Winter 2020/21

We were super excited to run our 5th year of the Girl Powder program!

Thank you for another amazing season!

During this unusual season, we were grateful that our community could still come together online to participate in our 5th season of Girl Powder! Though we missed seeing each other in-person, we were excited to still connect and grow together through our ZOOM meetings.

Our sessions this season centered around goal setting, controllable vs uncontrollable factors, journaling, and off-season preparation. We of course fit in some fun games, including virtual bingo, trivia, and a skiing board game!

By coming to these sessions, the girls demonstrated their commitment and dedication as ski racers, and we are so proud of all the growth they showed us. Each session the girls brought their enthusiasm and excitement, and we couldn't ask for more. We can’t wait to see them next year!

SPRING 2020

Given the events in the world, all of our seasons were cut short very abruptly.

This was super disappointing not being able to finish out the season, perform at championships, and not being able to say goodbye to our friends and coaches. There is a lot of uncertainty right now, which can be stressful. One good way to deal with this is to lean on each other, share, and come together as a community. It is helpful to know we are all in this together! Although we have not been able to be together in the same room, it has been great to see everyone on ZOOM and during the World Cup Video Review sessions.

Although now that the snow is all but gone, remember there are things we can do to stay fit and to keep our minds in the game for next season! Check out the Resources page for some dryland suggestions as well as our favorite

Winter 2019/2020

Below are some snaps of our 4th Girl Powder Season!

We had such a great time connecting over the past few months, sharing our love of skiing and ski racing and also building friendships, community, and a support network. We journaled, danced, did skits, clarified goals, learned best practices, and shared the ups & downs of our season. Unfortunately, the season ended prematurely for all of us, but we got together one last time on Skype to bring everyone together, sharing tips for dryland training and having a parent Q&A with the mentors.
